Snapdeal acquires Hyderabad based MartMobi

Snapdeal has acquired Hyderabad-based mobile technology startup, MartMobi for an undisclosed amount. The move is believed to be taken to develop strengthened mobility platform for merchant partners.

MartMobi was founded by Pramod Nair and Satya Krishna Ganni. The company provides a SaaS platform for creating mobile sites and apps for e-commerce stores, small and medium-sized businesses.

Rohit Bansal claims that they are focusing on mobile platform as about 75% of orders are coming from mobile-based devices. On the merchant side too, they are witnessing similar trends. The MartMobi team seems a great addition for Snapdeal as it will help strengthen the platform for sellers.

As per other sources, Snapdeal has also acqui-hired Gurgaon based mobile tech development startup ‘Letsgomo labs’. Letsgomo is founded by Manav Kamboj and Vikas Banga in 2011. It provides mobile enterprise solutions and services for eCommerce, it has Yatra, Shopclues, Utsav Fashion, Healthkart as some of its clients.

Earlier this year, Snapdeal had acquired payments and mobile recharge startup Freecharge in a cash-and-stock deal, as well as picked up stakes in digital financial services platform RupeePower and logistics venture GoJavas.

With Flipkart and Myntra going stronger by day with their mobile strategy, and Paytm also being an entrant in this domain, it is clear that Snapdeal too is gearing up on the mobility front with its series of acquisition.
