In a speech, Father of our Nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi said, “A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption of our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider of our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us the opportunity to do so.”
From these statements we can understand that customer plays a vital role and is an essential part in any type business. We are not supposed to think that the customers are dependent on and interruption for our business. Success of the business depends on the customer and businesses get the opportunity to serve the customers.
Maintaining good relationship and satisfying the customer is essential for the growth of a business. Value every customer entering your place and never make them feel that they are neglected. The way you interact with them will give your business a special identity. You have to respond them according to their needs and not from your point of view.
Every customer has their own way of thinking and approach so we need to understand the difference and offer services accordingly. Analysis has to be made on the consumer behavior. When a customer comes again and again to buy products or service then is a great success and if he leaves without being satisfied then it is great lose for your business.
Never say no to the need of the customer rather make them sure that their need will be fulfilled as soon as possible. But don’t give fake assurances as it will give a bad impression on your business. Remember we depend on the customers but they have many options to buy the product or service they need. So, it is necessary for you to sustain the customers by satisfying and giving them a positive impact on your business.
At the same time don’t allow customers to under estimate you by accepting whatever they say. We too have many customers so don’t show like you are longing for them. Some customers may come with the motive to bargain and get the product or service at low cost. This kind of people will never get convinced whatever you say. Be right on your part but if the customer didn’t accept then leave them. Move your concentration on the genuine buyers who realize your value.
Employees who are interacting with the customers should be professional, friendly and have the clarity of the purpose. Then only they can fulfill the needs of the customers by understanding their requirements and expectations. Whether you do business offline or online you should satisfy the needs of the customers in order to succeed in your business.
